Oh the flower of heavens
A lyrical tribute to Fatima Zahra

By: Noor-ul Ayn [jafariyanews.com]

Oh Fatima
The lady of light
Daughter of our Prophet
The soul that is whiter than white
On the highest of the heavens
You are praised by all the lands
Mother of Hassan and Hussain
Beauty of Islam
Zahra your light is shining
Brighter than the sun
Oh the flower of heavens
You are the only one
The apple of Muhammad’s eyes
The wife of Ali
The role model for all women.

Zahra Zahra, You are pride of both worlds

By Abbas Shahid Baqir

Zahra Zahra you are pride of both worlds
Zahra, Zahra, you are the most revered one
You are source of Prophethood
you are power of Imamat
You are source of eleven lights sent to the world with glory
Zahra Zahra you are pride of both worlds
Zahra, Zahra, you are the most revered one
You are aim of creation,
you are Gods' great worshipper
You are pride of Hawwa,
you are pride of Adam
Zahra Zahra you are pride of both worlds
Zahra, Zahra, you are the most revered one
Your glowing sacred hands
which gave charity to all Those
who came to your great door,
the 'Door of Mercy of Allah'
Zahra Zahra you are pride of both worlds
Zahra, Zahra, you are the most revered one
Allah praised your charity,
which had no self-interest
Allah sent the chapter of Hal Ata praising you all
Zahra Zahra you are pride of both worlds
Zahra, Zahra, you are the most revered one
You are the "Light of Allah',
Panjetan,
"Light of Allah' For you Allah made the world,
you are the life of the world
Zahra Zahra you are pride of both worlds
Zahra, Zahra, you are the most revered one
Allah Almighty sent a verse praising you your family
Saying all blemish is far away from you people of the House (*1)
Zahra Zahra you are pride of both worlds
Zahra, Zahra, you are the most revered one
Allah said peace be on you, O the 'Progeny of Yaseen'
Yaseen was your father, You all were greeted by God (*2)
Zahra Zahra you are pride of both worlds
Zahra, Zahra, you are the most revered one
Allah made loving you all obligatory for Muslims
Reward of Prophet’s preaching is loving all of you deeply (*3)
Zahra Zahra you are pride of both worlds
Zahra, Zahra, you are the most revered one

To her door they brought wood and fire

By Saleha Fatima Midhat

Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
O the people who follow the Prophet
O the people who respect the Prophet
You should respect the Prophet's daughter
You should respect the Prophet's successor
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
Just imagine that you have a daughter
And you know you are dying very soon
You will say to all of your relatives
All of you should take care of my daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
The Prophet said no one hurt my daughter
How did Muslims respect Prophet's daughter
To her door they had brought wood and fire
And wanted to burn her with family
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
Fatima said I am Prophet's daughter
And my sons are the grandsons of Prophet
The greatest Prophet has died recently
Let us peacefully mourn for the Prophet
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
They said Ali should pledge allegiance To the Caliph
whom we have appointed
But the Caliph Allah had appointed Was the great Ali,
cousin of Prophet
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
Just imagine that Prophet is alive
And is telling Allah has appointed My cousin Ali as my successor
Ali is forever first successor
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
Just imagine companion saying,
“This is caliph we Muslims appointed.
This is the first successor of Prophet You all pledge allegiance to him now!”
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
Whom should Muslims pledge allegiance
To the one who’s appointed by Allah
Not to one who’s appointed by Muslims
Allah has made Ali first successor
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
It was the group of the hypocrites
Who disobeyed Allah and the Prophet
They shouted 'Ali pledge allegiance To the caliph we Muslims appointed'
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
Ali didn’t agree for allegiance
Which was according to Allah’s order
Muslims set fire on door of Ali
To burn him with the daughter of Prophet
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
The fire flames rose higher and higher
Daughter of Prophet said let us have peace
A companion kicked at burning door
Which fell on her and deeply wounded her
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
By the door Zahra’s ribs were broken
She lost her baby! Unborn baby
Also she was attacked with a cased sword
With a whip she was lashed by enemy
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
She was wounded deeply by these attacks
By dangerous attacks her baby died
Her unborn baby
who was named Muhsin
Was wounded and killed before his birth
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
Deep wound on side, arm and broken ribs
Were the reasons for her untimely death
She was only eighteen years in age
Her back was bent she walked holding a cane
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
The oppressors did not let her mourn
They hushed her cries, the painful cries
They confiscated vast garden, Fadak
Which was given to her by the Prophet
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
One day Prophet appeared in her dream
Said my daughter you have suffered enough
You are coming to heaven tomorrow
But this message was permanent to world
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
Fatima Zahra was ready to die
She looked at faces of her family
Ali’s head wounded and full of the blood
Was the future vision before her eyes
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
She could see the painful sight of Hasan
He is poisoned his liver, lungs damaged
He is throwing up blood pieces of lungs
He is dead but arrows shot on his bier
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
She could see Husain hungry and thirsty
Carrying wounded dead bodies all the day
He is getting beheaded in Sajda
And his headless body is trampled
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
She could see Zainab and Umme Kulsoom
With bare head hungry and very thirsty
Ropes tied around their delicate hands
They are taken to court as the captives
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
Seeing future tragedies of children
Fatima cried, mourned for all of them
After offering prayer of the Isha
She died having wounded heart and body
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
It is duty of all of us Muslims
Believe Ali as the first successor
After him was Hasan and then Husain
Twelve successors appointed by Allah
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
Fatima was a link of all Imams
She is the 'Queen of Paradise'
Muhammad and Ali also are kings
Hasan and Husain are 'Princes of Heavens'
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
On Day of Judgement Allah will give
To Ali power of sending people
To the bridge, from bridge to heaven
Or deny their access to heaven
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor
So you have faith in fourteen Masumeen
Muhammad, Fatima, twelve Imams
Obey them follow them in their practice
And heaven’s luxury will be for you.
Do the justice to Prophet's daughter
Do the justice to Prophet's successor.

Whose house it is that is burnt?
Zahra is inside

Dr. Hasan Najafi

Smoke and the winds bear the brunt;
Whose house it is that is burnt?
Flames rise towards the sky.
And rises there in a shrill cry.
It is the house of the Prophet, and Zahra is inside,
See, how soon, how early changed the tide!
Some told: Zahra is there;
He told: So What? Why to care?
How soon they turned behind!
How soon their eyes turned blind!
The Prophet had introduced the dwellers of the House;
Hasan, Husain, Zahra, and her spouse.
He said this repeatedly for months again, again;
To enter the House permission he had to obtain.
All saw and heard what the Prophet did and said,
All knew the honor and awe of the house he held.
It is the matter of yesterday not years
But today Zahra’s voice no one hears,
In those flames I see something different,
It is the glory of Zahra made the flames effulgent.
The flames show high and high diurnally forever
The greatness and glory of Zahra, impossible to deter.
These flames can never be extinguished,
They are burning in the graves of enemies distinguished.
They once leapt high now they creep deep;
Where the tyrants can escape from the tight keep?
Did they have to the Prophet any regard or respect
What a lie they attributed the Prophet.
They claimed the Prophet having had told:
We the group of Prophets heritage don’t hold.
Lo, he speaks against the Book he brought;
Why John to Zechariahs, Solomon & David the heritage sought?
To them permitted, to Zahra prohibited?
Under this false pretext FADAK they confiscated.
Went Zahra to the Mosque addressed the nation,
Her words are still valid and hold admonition.
Therein lies a charted guidance
She expresses her sorrow upon their return to ignorance.
She returned home, withdrew from public appearance.
Indeed, a pain to see one benefits,
After the death of the Prophet within minutes.
She collapsed in pain and in grief,
Death come to her as the only relief.
Her grave: unknown, her death: in confusion;
For the safety of her dead body this is a measure taken.
Could there be a tyranny of such extensive ground?
Why at all to the grief, to tears she must be bound?
What is the wrong let us trace
Then why the affront to her face?
Whoever hates Zahra, has dared a great sin
Because her love is the Faith’s pin.
Without a pin a disk is mute of voice,
In an unheard voice, of right or wrong there is no choice.
She makes the Will to be buried in night
Doesn’t this bring the tyrants to the sight.

The Fatima Tree

By: Spriglief [almujtaba.com]

Oh Fatima,
The apple of your father’s eye,
Whose cool shade I now bade,
Hear my prayer, my supplication.

Everyone knows your fruit.
Let me be as fruitful,
Let me be as loved.

My roots need nourishment,
My soul is thirsty,
Send to me an Ali.

Give me your peaceful patience.
Give me a hen’s contentment.
I want a woman’s modesty.

Bring me into my season.
Let my nectar allure the bee,
The one you have for me.

Then let me bear for him,
With strong limbs,
Children!

Until I am know as you,
By my sweet and wonderful fruit,
Oh Fatima, the apple of your father’s eye,
Nourish me.

I once arrived to the city of Medina

By: Sayed Ali Al-Mousawi Al-Khalkhali

Ya Zahra Ya Zahra Ya Zahra
Ya Zahra Ya Zahra Ya Zahra

I once arrived to the city of Medina,
I asked the men where is the grave of Fatima,
They replied to me that nobody knows,
We are waiting for the Mehdi for he shall show.

Let us look back and search through the history,
Let us find the truth behind this mystery,
Why is it nobody knows where is her grave,
For she is the mother of Hassan and Hussain.

Let us look back and search the crime from the start,
It all commenced just when the prophet would depart,
They planned to meet under the tent of Saqifah,
In order for them to choose the next Khalifah.

But they were all present during Al-Ghadeer,
When the prophet declared the next is Ali,
Instead they went against the will of the Nabi,
Thus they decided to attack the house of Ali.

Ali cries aloud enough is enough,
How dare you treat the holy family so rough,
Already the door of my house you have burnt,
It seems no lesson from the prophet you have learnt.

A wicked evil man fierce fully pushed the door,
So that the daughter of Mohammed would live no more,
He pushed the door so fierce fully squeezing her chest,
Causing Fatima, in this world, to no more rest.

Fatima says:
It seems that man in Shaytan’s world was trapped,
He burnt the door, entered, and my face he slapped,
It seems that man was mentally disturbed and sick,
He knew I was pregnant but my foetus he kicked.

Fatima says:
Ali bury me during the night,
To be far away from anybody’s sight,
For those men have tried to take away your right,
Don’t they know that you were created from the light,
Don’t they know that the truth was with you and you were with the right,

Ali had to go through ever so much,
He actually saw the ribs of Zahra they crush,
They managed to brutally murder his wife,
And they finally took away Mohsen’s life.

She was the master of the Nisa-ul-Alemeen,
Beside Mohammed, Fatima would always be seen,
This is the daughter of the best of the Rasool,
Now don’t ever curse us for loving the Batool,
Now don’t curse us for crying for the Batool.

For what reason was Fatima’s grave concealed

By: Sayed Ali Al-Mousawi Al-Khalkhali

For what reason was Fatima’s grave concealed,
For in her praise Surat ul-Kawther was revealed,
For what reason do we not know the day?
Upon which Zahra in her hidden grave lay.

For what reason do we not know where is Fatima’s grave,
For the prophet of Allah would always bless her and praise,
For what reason do some try and twist the truth,
By claiming Fatima died naturally in her blossoming youth.

Let’s remember the most tragic and painful tale,
Let’s remember the burning door, the broken ribs and the pierced nail,
Let us remember the daughter of the Rasool,
Let’s remember what happened to Fatima al-Batool.

Let us remember what had happen to her,
Let’s remember what happened to our mother,
Let’s remember that sad and tragic event,
Let’s remember our mother and let’s lament,

For she was called the mother of her father,
Of the women in this world there was no better,
She was the best of Nisaa ul-Alameen,
Better than our mother we have never seen.

Imam Hasan, Imam Hussein Say:
In front of the door they all had piled the wood,
Whilst behind the door my mother Zahra stood,
They then managed to rapidly burn the door,
This event I witnessed and saw.

Don’t you ever ask me why I am crying?
This happened to my mother I’m not lying,
That evil and ferocious man pushed the door,
So that my mother Zahra would live no more.

Fatima says:
Oh father they have broken my ribs,
They have caused pain in all of my limbs,
He forced and pierced the nail into my chest,
From that day, from that day, I can no longer rest.

That man in shaytan’s world had been trapped,
He burnt the door and my face he had slapped,
That man just and only evil did inflict,
The foetus which I carried, he also had kicked!

All of these men Akhlaq they tend to lack,
They took Ali’s khilafa and my Fadak,
They forgot that those who with Ali remain,
Are following the most straight and narrow lane.

Hasanain are orphans at a young age,
This event must be written in every page,
We must tell the whole world what just happened,
The message of her shahadat we must send.

Oh world it is wajib upon you to send,
What to our mother Zahra had just happened,
They caused the death of Ali’s wife,
And also the rapid end to Mohsen’s life.

Lady of Paradise

By: Sister Mardhiya

My heart's whisper

I have always longed to present the thoughts; the pain, the agony that Fatimah Al Zahra (as) must have gone through after her father's departure, from the perspective of a lover. Someone who dearly admires Zahra (as). Yet, however much I try I see no success.
Last night when I picked my pen from the table, I had just one aim . . . to compose a poem for the Lady of Paradise. To bless my mind & vision just by thinking of her personality.
But as usual I ran out of words. I ended up packing the paper and sealing it, with no words laden in it.
I often ask myself, ' what sin must I have commited, that my heart cannot express its gestures, that my hand cannot write & my mind narrate. '

O' Allah; If I cannot visit her grave, atleast give me the fluency of words! This is my whisper; my prayer & my plea.

The Poem

My love to you I extend,
O' lady of Paradise.
At your doorsteps;
I have occupied a seat,
for the sake of your Hassan,
donot reject me.
I am a servant,
who wishes to be chosen by you.
Pick me, even though I am not worthy;
for your mercy falls far beyond,
the ink of my pen.
O' Fatimah - You are the gentle breeze of dawn,
and I; a lone cloud in the sky,
waiting to be touched by you.
O' Siddiqah - You are the beginning,
to the generation of righteous.
O' Radhiya - From your lap,
twelve moons shall brighten the worlds.
O' Reyhana - By your beauty,
the sun is humbled.
O' Batoul - The messengers of God,
seek entry to your home.
O' Mardhiya - The corner's of your house;
are the place of gather, for the angels.
O' Zahirah - You are Khadijah's reflection,
a heavenly bouquet of light you surely are.
O' Tahirah - Kawthar holds your name,
and Prophet's love you bear.
O' Zakiyyah - You are for Muhammad a fruit,
after the years of hardship.
An answer to his forenoon prayers,
You are a reply to Surah Ad Duha.
May I be your ransom,
grace me a glance.
From the highest peak of Paradise,
look at my chest,
which bears your most beautiful title; O' Fatimah.

Fatima Al-Zahra

By: Sister Mardhiya

An admirer in tears;
lost in the labyrinth of emotion,
as she pens down a poem in your praise.
An uninterrupted flow of tears,
streaming from your lover's eye,
blears your image,
restricting my view.
The sweet scent of musk,
encompassing her holiness,
as Kadijah, Maryam & Aasiya follow her.
Holding on to Al-Hussain's shirt,
drenching in blood,
embracing the leg of the throne.
Enchanted by this destined sight,
I whisper to myself ...
Why is it so, O' Prophet's darling daughter,
that you appear as a figure so pale?
May my parent's be your ransom,
why do you lean on the pillar, seeking Al-Hassan's support?
The vision fades,
as I hear a cry.
The cry of Gabriel;
بِأَيِّ ذَنبٍ قُتِلَتْ
Awaken by an infant's laughter ...

Weep for Al-Zahra

By: Sister Mardhiya

Can someone spare me an eye;
with which I shed tears,
for the severity of this tragedy lies,
in Al-Zahra's broken ribs.
O lovers of her holiness,
ask me not of the power of the nail,
that pierced through my Mistress's chest.
Shall it suffice, to let you known;
of her instantantaneous miscarriage?
Weep O lover, weep for Zahra's loneliness!

All eyes are overflowing with tears,
save the eye of the accursed one,
who bruised Al-Zahra's radiant face,
by striking upon the Prophet's beloved,
an agonizing blow.
The hand that dared to strike Al-Zahra,
was indeed the very hand that seized the pen from Rasul'Allah.
Weep O lover, weep for Zahra's loneliness!

How can I narrate the sorrow,
that leaves the pillar's of Masjid Al-Nabi trembling?
How can not mourn for her oppression,
when I can hear the angels lamenting?
How may I befriend the hand,
that leveled Prophet's Kausar to the ground?
How may I bear to see,
the Prince-of-all-believers, expressing his grieviences to a water well?
Weep O lover, weep for Zahra's loneliness!

Bear witness O Allah,
the house upon entering which,
your angels seeked permission;
has now become a mourning place.
O Allah, the door that your Prophet kissed,
is now the ground for burnt ashes.
Weep O lover, weep for Zahra's loneliness!

The First Tears and Screams

By: Brother Turab

Standing with a rope round his neck
silence yet a silent scream
can only be heard by me and you
the angels and God knows
Fatimah
whilst holding her ribs
crying
Mohsin is lost
the house is burning
screaming loud silencing silence
my Ali
restless standing staring
unable to do anything
two kids
young and innocent
grandsons of the beloved prophet
scream
tears
oh so much pain
my mother
screams Hassan
my father
screams Hussain

Behind The Door Fall Named al-Muhassan

By: Mohammad Hussain Kashifal Ghita

At the Taffs did a wounded hero fall as did one

Behind the door fall named al-Muhassan,

And in every tent

A fire was set

From the very flame

That did burn in shame

The door of the house where did reside

The daughter of the Prophet sent to guide.

Her Calamity, The Opening To All Calamities

By: Al-Isfahani, the Critic

Her calamity, the opening to all calamities,

Was what she went through at the door,

For the talk about that door is surely grievous

Due to what the hands of betrayal committed.

Did the foes really assault

The House of Guidance,

The landing place of Revelation,

The center of all bliss?

Was the fire they did ignite

At her house’s door

And the Sign of Noor

Overwhelms it with light?

Her door is the door of the Prophet

Of mercy, the Prophet of salvation

Of this very Nation.

Nay! Her door is the door of

The most High, the most Exalted.

As though Allah’s Countenance was manifested.

With that fire they gained nothing but shame

After which there will be that of the Fire of Hell.

How ignorant some people are!

The fire burns not the Noor of Allah!

The most Exalted, the most Sublime!

But the breaking of the rib has none to repair

Except with the sword of one of might and power.

What wrenched those sacred ribs was a calamity

None like it in all eternity.

From the spring of blood that gushed out of her chest

Can one tell what she suffered, through what she went.

They transgressed all limits when they

On the cheek slapped her, may

The hand of oppression God paralyze.

And still remains the redness of her eyes

Of the eyes of knowledge can only remedied

By white swords when the banner is spread.

And the whips have a sound of dreariness

Hear by Time, lacking any happiness.

Remains, like a bracelet, the mark

On the wrist of al-Zahra’ that was so dark

A most strong of any argument.

From the blackness of her arm the cosmos

Was blackened, O Arm of Allah! O Imam al-Murtada!

How the sword’s scabbard was on her side planted

Bringing to memory all what to her happened.

I know not the story of the nail,

So ask the Custodian of all secrets.

In the womb of glory things that

Cause the inside to bleed.

Can they really hide

What is known and wide?

What about the door, the wall, the blood?

True witnesses which none can hide.

The criminal committed against her son

His crime the like of which is none.

So mountains were crushed

Upon hearing her wailing, though hushed.

Is this how the Prophet’s Daughter should be treated

Running after power, how wondrous it is!

Should one a grieved, saddened woman keep,

For fear of slander, forbidding her to weep?

By Allah! She ought to shed tears of blood

As long as the earth remains and the world

For having lost the dear one, her great father

For her oppression and for insulting her protector.

Should the inheritance of the Truthful One

Become free for all and her legacy

From the very best of creation?

How could one call her statement a lie

For it will be one’s answer to the verse

Of Purification...?

Should the faith be learned from a bedouin

Leaving aside the one referred to in the Book?

Thus they confiscated what she did own

Committing the extreme in calamity.

Woe upon them! They asked for a proof

Contrary to the clearly defined Sunnah!

And their rejection of those who did testify

Is the greatest testimony to what we clarify.

Filling the gaps was not coincidental

Nay! They closed hers and the Murtada’s door.

They turned away from the truth and did close

Its door, as though they were secure against its retribution.

Should part of the Greatly Purified one

Be buried at night, her grave unknown to man?

She was not buried at night and secretly

except because she was with the oppressors angry.

Nobody heard that she could ever thus be

In esteem unrecognized, her grave unknown to you and me.

Woe unto them from the Wrath of the Great One

For having oppressed the flower of the Chosen One.

You Don’t Know With Fire They Burned The Door

By: Sayyid Baqir al-Hindi

You don’t know with fire they burned the door,

Thus they hoped to put out, with fire, the noor.

You don’t know what nail had to do

With Fatima’s chest, if you only knew

In what condition her broken rib was

What miscarriage, why red were her eyes,

Why her ear-rings on the ground did scatter,

Unveiled was she when her house they did enter,

As Ali looked on, the man of manliness

The honorable, the fearless.

The Lion of Allah did they harass,

Like a camel did they lead him in duress.

The Batal behind them stumbled

On the tail of her robe which they pulled

With moaning that in the hearts did it ignite

The fire, and in anxiety that melted the stones of height.

She called upon them: Let my cousin Ali alone or I

To the Hearing One, the Seeing, shall I cry.

They paid her no heed,

By them she was scared indeed,

So they took Ali as a captive away,

Tied, like a captive; they had their day.

He goes on till he says the following:

Ali sees and hears, and the sword is sharp

And Ali’s might is not to be taken lightly

But his Brother’s will restricted what he could

Which was more than one really would,

So patience, O one entrusted with the affair

One whose judgment is wise and fair

One with a calamity that is on and on

One that melts one whose heart is stone.

How many calamities my narration of them to prolong

Wherein purity was stripped in time not so long?

How, eyes being quite red, can thee control,

O Son of Taha, a sweet slumber at all?

So weep and sigh for her foes

Did not let her weep and wail her woes.

As if I can see him saying, as he does weep,

With little solace but with tears high and deep:

May I after her never take for my relief

A home of happiness after her “house of grief.”

So when, O son of Fatima, you will bring to life in a way

The tyrants and the oppressors even before the Judgment Day?

Sulaym Said Something, Said I: O Salman!

By: Sayyid Muhammad al-Qazwini

Sulaym said something, said I: O Salman!

Did they really enter without permission?!

Said he: Yes, by the Glory of the Great One

While al-Zahra’ had no veil at all.

But she behind the door sought refuge,

Observing the rules of veil.

When they saw her, they did squeeze

Her, almost killing her, may my life

Be her ransom. Said she; O Fidda!

Support me, for surely have they

Killed my fetus this very day.

She miscarried, the Daughter of Guidance, O Grief!

Miscarried her son,

The one called Muhassan

Tragedy of Al-Zahra

By: Sayyid Hayder al-Hilli

No, by your pardon, the folks did no pardon implement,

Nor, by your clemency, were the folks at all clement:

What your mother carried they did cause to miscarry,

And your grandfather’s son with arrow to death did they carry

Sayeda Al-Zahra and Imam Hussain

By: Al-Salih al-Fattani al-Amili

O Master! O Messenger of Allah! Stand and see

What happened to your very family:

More that what you did tell:

They took away caliphate from Ali,

And what you said many did deny.

They led him to so-and-so to swear fealty,

Against his wish, oppressors taking him forcefully.

For that, he was with the sword his Shabir became

A martyr, and by poison his Shubbar died.

As if he was not the like of the Prophet

Nor was he, by his Lord, purified.

And Fatima is there, her sanctity did they violate,

By one who caused her rib at the door to break.

Your Husain, without a cause, slain,

Her body cut to parts, with blood stained

Dusted, lying on the ground is your Husain

Such Brings Pain To The Heart

By: Al-Hurr al-Amili

Her children are five: Hasan and Husain

And Zainab, older than Umm Kultham

And Muhassan was miscarried when

Omer forcibly opened their door

As it became known to all.

So she died after the Prophet

Willingly went to her Lord satisfied

With what He for her had been decreed.

Such brings pain to the heart

And every other calamity is surely less in pain

What grief, humiliation, persecution and oppression

And savagery became clear to all.

Then he explains how she died, saying,

Its cause, it was said, natural death but

It was also said that it was caused of the pain

Inflicted from a blow dealt to her by that man

When she instantly miscarried her fetus

For whom she kept weeping and wailing

In Her House Burn a Fire!

By: Muflih al-Saymari

Shackled in the straps of his own sword they took Ali

And Ammar before his rib crushed and was assaulted,

And they raided the home of the daughter of the Chosen One

And of their own Imam as one kept calling:

In her house burn a fire!

Of the inheritance of Prophet Muhammed was she deprived

And she was whipped and slapped.

Without a Reason Set Ablaze

Without a reason set ablaze,

And the Murtada from his home forcibly taken

The Cup of Grief

By: Al-Khalai

O Lord of the one who was disputed about

What her father left her of inheritance and who

Was sought by those of grudge and hatred

And who made anyone drink the cup of grief

To a father because of her son

Like the son of Marjana, the accursed one

Who made me of it drink

And who before called a liar

Someone by the Lord from sins purified

And is there another son of a Prophet

For whom fire was lit

As those who circled my home to burn me?

-----

I Wonder Which One of Them Shall I Mourn

By: Ali ibn al-Muqarrab

I wonder which one of them shall I mourn

And for whom shall my tears overflow?

To the wasi when, at his mosque, he was crowned

By the sword before bowing down?

Or to the Batal, Fatima, who was deprived

Of her inheritance, rightfully hers according to all

And according to one who to her said:

You sought wrong, so desist

Your father loudly declared before many:

We, prophets, leave for our sons nothing to inherit.

What we leave is for each and all.

So be pleased with what your father said.

She said: Give me what my father left me

The best of all people, the one with intercession.

But they regarded their witness void

And the text of the Book did not convince them.

She remained oppressed, persecuted, when her claim

Was rejected, when her ribs were crushed.

Or should I mourn the one who had to drink

From their Ju`da the cup of disguised poison?

Encomium On Sayeda Zahra

Being wrongful to your own father.

What Happened Following The Demise of The Messenger of Allah

By: Judge Al-Numan

Both swore fealty to him and said:

The best, you are, of everyone in state!

Among them were people of those at Badr slain,

And at others, people of confined grudge, plain.

They swore fealty, the heads of their folks,

So people swore, too, on that day

Except a few who recognized the way

Of their Prophet, so they kept away.

To Ali, their Imam, they went;

Said he: Your effort is already spent!

They said: No We shall do it for sure!

So he said: Set out now and your heads shave

So people will know you then come in a wave

To me so we may fight, God will make a way

For us to judge, and we will see what He does say.

The failed when they saw him determined,

So those who went to him counted only seven,

While fealty was sworn by all the rest

Who thought swearing it was the best.

I did call them by their very names.

He said: I shall not fight you for sure

For few you are and cannot meet the rest

So they sat to see what he would do

With them and what order to issue.

`Omer came to them with a group

Seeing the man they installed is not obeyed

Till they reached the door of Fatima

The Batal lady who boycotted them.

She intercepted between him and them

Hoping they would not reach her man

But he broke the door, the first of them

And they forced their way through her veil

As she did cry, ask for help and wail.

They hit her, so she did miscarry

Al-Zubayr heard the call and went in a hurry

But stumbled, his sword was taken

And was surely by them broken

So they caught al-Zubayr and he

In their hands a captive came to be.

The wasi came out with the rest of the men

Seeing their defenses were totally in vain.

They overpowered them and brought them to `Ateeq.

He goes on to say:

What a sigh in my heart

Like fire I feel in my mind.

Their killing al-Zahra Fatima

Ignited in my insides the fire

For it is known among the people

She died after having miscarried

She ordered to be at night buried

And her grave’s marks obliterated

So nobody knows where she is buried.

So that only her cousin would be there

And his family, and in distress she did disappear.

Her Lord greets her, with her nations she was displeased.

They swore fealty to him against their wish

As taqiyya. Alas! God for His servants did allow

Not to be forced to make for the ruler an untrue vow.

Till he says,

It is narrated for sure

That he said when he came:

Swear it! Said he: I shall not!

He said: Then I shall have you killed!

May Allah testify that he was weak

When he swore fealty to the usurper

Fearing being killed, and others swore too

For fear of those who were there.

If they made the Trusted One so weak

Before him Aaron was treated the same

By the nation of Moses when they

Wanted otherwise to have him killed

Treading the same steps indeed

The steps the wasis had to tread

Just as the sent Messenger said.

Description of the Oppression on Sayeda Zahra

By: Sayyid al-Himyari

Beaten, she was, and of her rights deprived,

And was made to taste after his demise of wounds.

God sever the hands that her did they hit,

And of that who agreed thereto and followed suit.

God may never forgive him nor

Spare him of the horror of leaving the grave

Lady Fatima - Perfect Pattern of Muslim Womanhood

By: Ejlal (facebook, LadyFatimaZahraa)

Mary is hallowed in one line alone,
That she bore Jesus; Fatima in three, (*)

For that she was the sweet delight of him
Who came a mercy to all living things,

Leader of former as of latter saints,
Who breathed new spirit into this dead world

And brought to birth the age of a New Law.
His lady she, whose regal diadem

God's words adorn Hath there come any time,
The chosen one, resolver of all knots

And hard perplexities, the Lion of God,
An emperor whose place was a hut,

Accoutered with one sword, one coat of mail.
And she his mother, upon whom revolves

Love's compasses, the leader of Love's train,
That single candle in the corridor

Of sanctity resplendent, guardian
Of the integrity of that best race

Of all God's peoples; who, that the fierce flame
Of war and hatred might extinguished be

Trod underfoot the crown and royal ring
His mother too, the lord of all earth's saints

And strong right arm of every freeborn man,
Hussein, the passion in the song of life,

Teacher of freedom to God's chosen few.
The character, the essential purity

Of holy children from the mothers come.
She was the harvest of the well-sown field

Of self-surrender, to all mothers she
The perfect pattern, Fatima the chaste.

Her heart so grieved, because one came in need,
She stripped her cloak and sold it to a Jew;

Though creatures all, of light alike and fire,
Obeyed her bidding, yet she sank her will

In her good consort's pleasure. Fortitude
And meekness were her schooling; while her lips

Chanted the Book, she ground the homely mill.
No pillow needed she to catch her tears,

But wept contrition's offering of pearls
Upon the skirt of prayer; which Gabriel stooped

To gather, as they glistened i the dust,
And rained like dew upon the Throne of God.

God's Law a fetter of locks about my feet
To guard secure the Prophet's high behest,

Else had I surely gone about her tomb
And fallen prostrate, worshipping her dust.
